FAQs

  • Nutrition to Thrive is currently in network with:

    • Premera

    • First Choice Health

    • Regence BlueShield

  • I accept young adults, teens (13+), and adults seeking eating disorder recovery or hoping to improve their relationship with food.

  • At this time I am only accepting Telehealth clients.

  • Yes. I have lots of experience working with teens in an interdisciplinary FBT-aligned model of care. I am happy to join your child’s team and collaborate with their therapist and/or medical provider.

  • Insurance typically covers dietitian visits. I recommend calling your insurance company to find out for sure. Here are some questions you can ask:

    • Is Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) covered under my plan?

    • Are there any specific medical conditions for which MNT is covered?

    • Are there limitations on the number of sessions covered per year?

    • Do I need a referral from a healthcare provider to access MNT services?

    • Does my plan include preventative nutrition services?

    • Are out-of-network nutrition services reimbursable?

  • Your insurance may reimburse you for out-of-network medical nutrition therapy. After you pay out of pocket, I can issue a superbill on a monthly basis for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • Licensure laws for dietitians vary from state to state. I am currently licensed in Washington State, but some states do not require licensure. In most cases, I am unable to accept out-of-state insurance, but I may be able to accept clients out-of-network. If you are a prospective client from out-of-state, please contact me so we can discuss your options.

  • Nutrition therapy can help everyone! My services may be particularly helpful if you have found yourself confused about all the contradictory information on social media or struggled to feel comfortable around food. Nutrition therapy can help you sort out the fact from fiction and uncover the patterns that keep you stuck. If you’re still unsure, feel free to reach out with any questions.
